Inception
Technology is amazing, really. And people are too. Without a doubt, I would never have considered launching and maintaining my own website if not for the many user-friendly tools available to aid in the process. A round of applause to all the tools and services working behind the scenes to deliver this post.
What exactly should you expect from me on this site? Well, I’m a nerd. So expect that at the very least. In today’s world, there is no shortage of information; however, there is a deficiency in the way it is organized and presented. This is one of the strongest motivating factors pushing me to publish. In time, I hope to make complex ideas more approachable for you and to attune you to some of the mathematical principles at play in daily life. I also plan to use this platform as a gallery of my (again nerdy) professional skills. Those posts, similar to my first, will be written for a more targeted, technical audience.
That being said, I would like for this website to reflect my well-rounded self and not just the self that stares at code and data several hours a day. Like everyone, my interests vary. You can probably expect to hear a story about my wife or my cats every so often. Rock, metal, Linux, soccer, running, hiking, beer, philosophy, a good Matt Damon movie… I make no guarantees that all or any of my posts will appeal to you. By all means, stop reading if I put you to sleep. However, I will attempt to reach as wide an audience as possible, limited only by how (un)appealing you find the gamut of my interests.
That’s that then. I have enabled comments for my posts. Feel free to give me feedback, however supportive or critical. I look forward to engaging with you all in the days, months, and years to come. But for now, it’s due time for me to sign off and catch some shut-eye.
Wishing y’all the best,
–Brent
